You’ve heard of New York Life, right? They’re only the largest mutual insurance company in the US, and have been in business since 1845. But how do they stack up to the “online kids” of today? Let’s find out:
When you have been in business since before the Civil War, you are doing something right. And New York Life is – they are the largest mutual insurance company in America, and it shows. Their website is comprehensive, and includes everything a modern online shopper would want – blogs, articles, tools, advice, and a step-by-step questionnaire.
There’s a lot to like here, with a reputation that is second to none.
One drawback – I’ve seen easier step-by-step application processes. Part of the reason is likely the wealth of products offered. They need to find out of you need term life insurance, annuities, whole life, etc. This is for the main website, by the way. The landing pages are more focused on what consumers came there for.
Big time insurance company here. The only thing that keeps them from a higher score is the application process is not as tight as it could be. But if feeling good about the scope and stability of your life insurance company is important, you can do no better than New York Life.
